John Lennon caricature achieves high pop and film memorabilia price

Pop and film memorabilia purchasers could be inspired by one recent John Lennon-related item.

Film Memorabilia

A caricature made by John Lennon and Yoko Ono during their 1969 bed-in has sold for more than £37,000.

The item was created during their infamous peace protest at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, Canada.

Scrawled in felt pen, the image depicts the Beatles star and his wife - and arguably represents an iconic piece of musical history.

It was sold as part of an auction of rock and pop showpiece at Christie's in London.

News of the purchase may inspire those looking for pop and film memorabilia valuations.

The bed-in protests were designed to promote world peace and were conceived by the musician during the Vietnam War.

Previously, Lennon's handwritten lyrics for the Beatles' 1967 song A Day In The Life were sold at auction for approximately £810,000 - roughly double the estimate price.

A collector picked up the item - which contains some alternative lines - at Sotheby's in New York.
