Winston Churchill car has antiques valuation of up to £250k

An antiques valuation of up to £250,000 has been placed on a car used by Winston Churchill.

A car used by Winston Churchill during his election campaigns in 1944 and 1949 has had an antiques valuation of between £200,000 and £250,000 placed on it.

The Daimler DB18 Drophead Coupe is set to go under the hammer on December 4th at an Historics of Brooklands sale.

When the vehicle was first created in 1939 - as only one of eight made due to the war, of which four were destroyed during the Blitz and one was scrapped because of the damage it incurred in the conflict - it could manage 0-50 mph in 17.9 seconds and a top speed of 76 mph.

It contains a three-position cabriolet hood and is decorated in silver over the top of black coachwork.

This comes after an Aston Martin DB5 used in James Bond films Thunderball and Goldfinger went up for auction to the tune of £2.6 million last month.
