A Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet has been given an antiques valuation of between £80,000 and £100,000 before it goes under the hammer next month.

The left-hand drive motor - which is set to be sold at a Historic at Brook lands auction on March 3rd - has attracted a "significant" level of interest throughout Europe, Australasia and Asia, the auctioneer has stated.

In addition to this, a right-hand drive model was sold for £80,000 at the company's September auction and Historic is expecting similar results from this vehicle.

It will be joined at the auction by a number of motors from the forthcoming Captain America - The First Avenger motion picture, which stars US actors Tommy Lee Jones and Chris Evans, as well as Hayley Atwell, Natalie Dormer and Richard Armitage.

Vehicles from the film that are set to go under the hammer include a 1942 Chevrolet Gillig School/Tour Bus and a 1933 Dodge Tow Truck.
