Lioness cast sculpture among items at New York show

Those seeking antique furniture for gardens might want to check out one upcoming auction in New York.

Sculpture

A cast sculpture of a Lioness will be among the items that guests can behold at a New York auction next month.

The Antique Garden Furniture Show and Sale will give onlookers the chance to witness a range of quirky pieces, the Epoch Times reports. Held at the New York Botanical Garden, the showpiece will give guests a glimpse of various antique objects designed for the outdoors.

As well as the Lioness ? which is dated from about 1900 and is set to be exhibited by Treillage ? other items will include a cast iron dog from 1880 and a pair of carved marble urns from the same period. News of the auction may encourage buyers with a passion for antique ceramics to make a bid at the show.

Previously, Antiques and the Arts Online reported that the recent Bedford Spring Antiques Show featured a 1790-era New Yorkone-gallon ovoid jar, plus other forms of pottery.
