A John Lennon suit has had an antiques valuation of $120,000 (£77,576) placed on it.

The clothing was worn by the Let it Be singer - who was married to Yoko Ono - on the cover of the Beatles' album Abbey Road, the Telegraph reports.

In addition, more of the crooner's items will be put up for sale alongside the garment, such as blazer the Liverpudlian donned in the music video for his track Imagine.

What's more, the all-white suit is going under the hammer at the auction in Connecticut in the US after the owner experienced some tough economic times, according to Gary Braswell, who co-owns the auction house.

This comes after it was revealed last month that lyrics penned by Lennon had an antiques valuation of £350,000.

The words to I'm Only Sleeping - which was used on the group's 1966 album Revolver - were written on the back of a £12 outstanding bill.
