An antique appraisal has seen the Aston Martin driven by Sean Connery in the James Bond movies given a price guide of £3.5 million for an auction due to take place on October 27th.

The 1964 DB5 can go from 0 to 60 in 7.1 seconds and reach speeds of 145mph, coming equipped with revolving number plates, machine guns, a smoke screen, nail spreader and a bullet-proof shield, the BBC reports.

Philadelphia-based radio DJ Jerry Lee - the current owner and who purchased the model for $12,000 (£7,553) 40 years ago - intends to use the money to develop The Jerry Lee Foundation, an organisation dedicated to reducing crime.

Speaking to BBC Three Counties, Dr Peter Nelson of the James Bond Museum noted that a typical DB5 "looks fantastic", but when kitted out with all the 007 gadgets, "an absolutely fantastic car" is created.

This comes after Ian Fleming's car - a 1962 AC Aceca Coupe - went under the hammer for £80,000 at a Bonhams auction last month.
