High values set for Warren Buffett lunch auction

Warren Buffett has organised an annual lunch auction and has invited a minimum bid of $25,000 (£17,200), the Associated Press reports.

Specifically, the cash will be put towards helping the poor and homeless.

For instance, the Glide Foundation will be recipients, providing social services to vulnerable communities in San Francisco.

Hosted at the Smith and Wollensky restaurant in New York, the bash arguably is the sort of event that excites those looking for an online paintings valuation - or other items.

Meanwhile, it might not have escaped the attention of those after books valuations that Sotheby's in London is planning to sell a series of rare first editions.

The likes of William Shakespeare's collected poems are expected to form a total price of up to £15 million.
