A 5,000-piece Disney collection has been given an antique price guide of between $50,000 (£31,160) and $100,000, an auctioneers has revealed.

The items - owned by George Reiger, who is known as the Disney Tattoo Guy due to him having 2,200 images from the movies inked on his body - are set to go under the hammer at William H Bunch gallery in Chadds Ford, US, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The 56-year-old has decided to sell the pieces, such as the Mickey Mouse-themed light fittings, to start a life with his new love.

Mr Reiger got his first tattoo - a scene from Fantasia - when he was 18 years old after falling in love with the films.

What's more, other cartoon-related antiques to go up for auction include a rare Batman comic, which has an antique price guide of $400,000.

It is believed there was only around 150 versions of the 1939 books made.
