Two paintings owned by Demi Moore have had a combined antiques valuation of $1.5 million (£947,000) placed on them.

The 19th-century European items were bought by the actress - who is known for her work in films such as Indecent Proposal, Ghost and Charlie's Angels - at a 1995 Christie's auction.

A piece titled Frere et Soeur by William Bouguereau will be up for grabs at Sotheby's on November 4th and Moore - who is married to actor Ashton Kutcher - said: "I find Bouguereau to be particularly engaging for me personally and have chosen to hold on to a smaller piece to carry with me throughout the years."

The other item - called Mere et Ses Enfants - was created by Belgian painter Alfred Stevens and could bring about $200,000, according to estimates.

Moore also noted that the French artist's portrayal of women with "incredible strength" has inspired her.
