A white grand piano is among the items set to be sold as part of an Elvis Presley auction next month, in news that may have captured the imagination of anyone seeking antique valuations.

The Sun notes that the instrument could fetch £1 million and quotes an auction spokesman as stating: "For the serious Elvis Presley fan or collector, it's hard to imagine a more important musical relic."

The sale will take place in Memphis, Tennessee, where bidders can attempt to bag the gold-trimmed piano, which was kept at the singer's Graceland dwelling between 1957 and 1969.

Elvis purchased the item after hearing it in action at a gospel singing session with his mother.

Furthermore, the showpiece will see the star's address book sell for an estimated price of £2,000, while a diamond ring could fetch £30,000.

This follows news that Southey's are due to auction off 20 pieces of jewelry commissioned by King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson at an event this November.
