The pictures were taken during the Beatle's last-ever interview on December 6th 1980, just two days before he was murdered.

A collection of ten rare shots of John Lennon - taken during his last interview on December 6th 1980 - have been given an antique price guide of £1,200 each.

Music historian Mark Hayward said he began amassing negatives in the 80s after attending an auction that was selling the items - not just of The Beatles, but of many other bands as well - alongside the copyright.

The pictures show the Beatle in a round-necked blue jumper and his iconic glasses, alongside wife Yoko Ono and others including Andy Peebles, the top Radio One DJ, whose interview with the musician has become known as The Last Lennon Tapes.

Ironically, Peebles' final question to the singer was regarding his personal security, to which he replied that he felt safe on the New York streets.

Another shot of John and Yoko, taken by Annie Leibovitz and featuring the couple embracing, was recently given an antiques valuation of between $10,000 (£6,421) and $15,000.
