A collection of antique silver jewelry and shoes owned by former leading light of the fashion world Wallis Simpson is expected to go for £250,000 at auction this week. Included in the sale is a pair of Andrew Geller high heels - complete with embroidery - that were purchased back in the 50s, the Daily Mail reports.

The American married Edward VIII - then King of England - in 1937 and later became famous for the phrase, "You can never be too rich or too thin". Another item up for bidding is a Cartier pocket watch given to the monarch by Simpson in 1936, which has been valued and is thought will reach between £40,000 and £60,000.

Director of Wiltshire's Gardiner Houlgate auction house David Hare remarked: "All the Duke and Duchess of Windsor lots are wonderful, historic items with established provenance." More antique jewelry is to go under the hammer in New York in April, featuring a rare pink-orange diamond ring and a yellow diamond necklace, New Tang Dynasty Television recently reported.
