Antique appraisal seekers might be keen on BMW sale

A BMW sale may inspire some antique appraisals seekers to get their items valued.

Those looking for accurate antique appraisals may be inspired after hearing that two BMWs have sold for nearly double their valuations at auction.

The pair of BMW X6 35i XDrive Steptronics - both Space Grey in colour - went for £58,000 and £58,500 at the BMW Open Sale at British Car Auctions (BCA) Edinburgh after being given a price guide of around £30,000 each.

BCA's national account manager Simon Young said the values on this pair were "exceptional by any standard" and the sale underlined the potential of what auctions can do when the right product is put in front of the right person.

He added: "These BMW sales always attract a huge amount of attention from buyers and regularly achieve strong market values on the cars offered."

This news comes after a combined valuation of £245,000 was placed on a Bentley and an Aston Martin before they go under the hammer at a Barons auction at Sandown Park on October 26th.
