Original Superman Action Figure: $25,000 USD

Action comics and super heroes are familiar to us all, whether or not it was you, your big brother or perhaps that infamous uncle who collected such items!

Whoever collected them maybe excited to know that Superman can be considered one of the elite as many of the Superman items and memorabilia, particularly from the 1940s and 1950s, sell for sums as large as $25,000 these days, which is somewhat impressive since he has been around since his first appearance back in 1938. Perhaps keep hold of any Action Man figures in case they also turn out to be a vintage fortune.

There was a time when Beanie Babies were a massive and addictive collector’s item. One of the most rare dolls in the collection is the Princess TY Beanie Baby, that’s selling for a minimum price of $200,000. Princess was introduced on29 October, 1997 and the company announced that only 12 Princess Beanie Babies were available for delivery in December. One can imagine how this may have caused a buying frenzy with collectors! While a lot of TY Beanie Babies didn't increase in value like we were told they would, this version is worth quite a lot of money. How much? A mint condition Princess Diana Beanie Baby recently sold for $652,000 on eBay. Let that sink in.

The Dandy and The Beano: £20,000 GBP

Valuemystuffthedandy.png

The comic book world is divided into two markets. The brightly – coloured US action-hero comics and the British comic market often featuring black and white versions of much-loved characters that many Brits grew up with. While the US is where the serious investors buy, Britain still has some valuable comics. A first edition of The Dandy complete with the free gift whistle from 1937 would sell for £20,000 GBP. If you can get your hands on a 1938 The Beano comic book, you could be selling it for at least £12,000 GBP.

Sony Walkman TPs: $600 USD

Nothing screams old technology like cassettes,VHS tapes, boom boxes, and (of course) the Sony Walkman. If you had the Walkman at school, everyone knew you were the most popular kid in class. It valuemystuffwalkman.pngwas the CD player fifteen years later, or the Ipod years after that.

Walkmans were popular, but buying a Walkman for your kid didn’t really catch on as the price point was quite high and more companies began manufacturing more affordable alternatives. The Walkman TPs then became rather limited, and although you can still buy Walkmans for under20 dollars, finding this exact model of Walkman is much more difficult. How difficult you ask? Nearly $600 USD difficult! After you buy that, you’ll only be able to afford cassettes!

Polly Pockets:valuemystuffpollypocket.png

Polly Pockets can go for hundreds of dollars if they were manufactured before 1998when Mattel took over production from Bluebird. Bluebird manufactured 350 sets over the decade that they were in the Polly Pocket business, and these are worth more than a hundred dollars. One of the most rare items is the 1996 Polly Pocket candy shop set, which is sold for $125 on the market. I know you can’t put a price on your childhood, but if you were going to, these are some pretty good prices.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT), often shortened to Ninja Turtles, are a fictional team of four teenage anthropomorphic turtles named after four Renaissance artists: Leonardo (Leo), Michelangelo (Mike or Mikey), Donatello (Don or Donnie), Raphael (Raph). The characters initially appeared in comic books before being licensed for toys, cartoons, video games, films, and other merchandise. During the peak of its popularity in the late 1980s through early 1990s, the franchise gained considerable worldwide success and fame. All TMNT figures made between 1988 and1997 are considered vintage, and the earlier that they are, the more expensive they will be. At Heritage Auctions in September 2012, a limited edition Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book sold for $358.50 USD. In November of this year,a collection of TMNT figurines that laid in an attic for 35 years was sold at Wessex Auction Rooms for more than £5,000 GBP. Cabbage Patch Kids: $2,000 USD

Cabbage Patch Kids debuted in 1978 as the“Little People” (which is an unsettling name as it is) and these dolls quickly developed a cult following.
