People searching for accurate antique appraisals might be inspired by the news that a Hebrew book has gone under the hammer for $33,000 (£21,338).

The item - which included a script and bright illuminations - was sold at the DCU Center in the US on Saturday (September 11th) as part of the Green family estate, now known as Green Hill Park, along with many other products, the Telegram reports.

But the purchase price came as a bit of a surprise to William Ralph, who cataloged all of the documents, letters and books.

He said: "We didn't pay that much attention to it. We have no record of how it came into the family."

Other big sellers included a George Inness oil painting of Mount Washington in New Hampshire which went for $24,000.

This news comes after a biography written by Winston Churchill is expected to reach up to £2,000 when it goes up for sale at auction, the Bath Chronicle reports.
