Each Rolex timepiece is equipped with small, very precise movements manufactured by a Swiss watchmaking company in Bienne. In 1910, a Rolex watch was the first wristwatch in the world to receive the Swiss Certificate of Chronometric Precision. Thus the Rolex timepiece is synonymous with precision – and we ensure are watch valuations are too!

Identifiable features may include a Rolex crown at 12 o’clock, Arabic and Roman numerals or classic hour markers in geometric shapes. On all current date models, except for the Sea-Dweller, the crystal will have a glass bubble or ‘cyclops’ attached and positioned over the date, with a purpose to magnify. Rolex is responsible for inventing the world’s first waterproof timepiece known as the Oyster in 1926.Whether crafted in 904L steel, 18 ct gold or 950 platinum, the Oyster case remains a symbol of strength and durability. The winding crown seals the case while enabling one to adjust the key functions of the watch, such as time and date.

Several other iconic Rolex models include the Perpetual watch of 1936, the Datejust of 1945 and the Daytona in 1963.A new world record was set when Rolex Daytona ‘Lesson One’, a collection of 50 examples of the world’s most celebrated chronograph wristwatch, sold for $13, 248,167 (approximately 20 million pounds) at a Christie's auction in Geneva, May 2013. This quadrupled the pre-sale estimate.
