Jewels formerly owned by Duchess of Windsor Wallis Simpson have been given an antique price guide of £3 million.

The 20 items are set to go under the hammer at Sotheby's in London on November 30th.

David Bennett, chairman of the auction house's Jewellery in Europe and the Middle East section, said: "It is an extraordinary honour to bring once again to sale these jewels worn by a woman who was a leader of fashion and the epitome of elegance and sophistication for her generation and beyond."

He added that there are inscriptions on some of the pieces which tell the tale of possibly the greatest love story of the 20th century, which led to Edward VIII abdicating the British throne.

This news comes as another Sotheby's jewellery auction is set to take place on Tuesday (September 28th) in New York which will feature a platinum and diamond pendant Harry Winston necklace among other items.
