Sotheby’s sale achieves $170.5 Million

Last night Sotheby's held their Impressionist and Modern sale in New York with an impressive turn out. the sale was estimated to make around $158 million but surpassed that price climbing to $170.5 million.

Last night, Southey's held their Impressionist and Modern Sale in New York. The end price tag was $170,478,000 and 75% of the lots were sold. Some of the grand highlights include:

Picasso’s Femmes lisant achieved $21.3 million being the highest selling lot of the sale. Salvador Dali also had an impressive night with his first lot selling for $2.6 million. Claude Monet also had an impressive performance with his piece ‘La Seine a Argenteuil’ selling for just over $6 million. Paul Gauguin took away the second highest lot with his sculpture of Jeune Tahitienne going for $11.3 million.
