It has been released recently that Sotheby’s London is to auction the private Hascoe Collection of Czech Modern Art on the 13th of June this year. Close to 200 lots include paintings, sculpture and furniture from one of the leading private collections of Czech Modernist art. This unique sale has great potential to reach not only high prices, but also help bring this particular artistic movement onto an international stage.

Some highlights of the sale include a work by Cubist painter František Kupka and his work Movement (1913-19) is being estimated at £500,000 – 700,000. A work that is considered one of the signature pieces created throughout the artist’s whole career. There are also works from artists such as Bohumil Kubišta’s Still Life with Fruits (1909) estimated at £300,000-500,000 and Antonín Pocházka’s Still Life with Vase and Flower (1914) estimated at £20,000-30,000.

With particular sales like this one, Sotheby’s sends many highlights around the globe to build momentum and for potential buyers to view the pieces in person. This sale will be traveling to New York the 29th of April – 2nd of May, Vienna the 4th-6th of May, Moscow the 16th – 20th of May, and Prague the 23rd – 26th of May.
