Jewellery & Watches

On April 13th, Bonhams in London will auction off a pink sapphire and diamond flower brooch, c. 1900, in their Fine Jewelry Sale. The piece has an estimate of £30,000 to £40,000. This fantastic example of realistic modeling is being brought to auction from a private collection.

The brooch has caliber-cut sapphires with colors from deep reds to the touch of pink on the petals of the flower. The stem and petal edges are lined with old brilliant-cut diamonds. The realism in this piece resembles those of a true cyclamen with gradual colors seen in each petal.

Other highlights of the sale include a pair of diamond pendent earrings estimated at £120,000-150,000. A sapphire and diamond cluster ring estimated at £100,000 – 150,000. And finally, a diamond single-stone ring estimated at £80,000 – 100,000. With high estimates like these this sale is sure to be talked of in the following weeks.
