Heritage Auctions in Dallas will auction off the teeth of an ancient Megalodon in June. The massive 9-by-11 foot jaw comes from a shark like creature that lived 1.5 million to 25 million years ago. This massive animal would have been large enough to consume not only dolphins but whales as well.

Vito Bertucci spent his life collecting these Megalodon teeth around South Carolina and Georgia before his death in 2004. Within the collection of teeth, there are four that are more than seven inches long, which is very rare. Teeth individually could be sold for $10,000 to $15,000 individually.

Although the controversy about these animals still survives. Scientists argue about the actual size of the animal since the only remains found are teeth and vertebrae. Although the jaw itself is an exaggeration (made from Plexiglas) the teeth are true fossils.

The jaw will be on display at the Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas until the sale.
