Phillips de Pury Puts a High Value on Contemporary Art

Phillips de Pury is gearing up for their September Under the Influence sale of contemporary art. The sale is the start of the fall auction season on the 23rd of September.

Contemporary Art

Philips de Pury will be holding their September Under the Influence Auction in New York to kick start the fall season of auctions. The auction, which takes place on 23 September, will showcase new contemporary art hardly ever seen at auction as well as a private American collection. With artists such as Wade Guyton, Jacob Kassay, Aaron Young, Katy Grannan, Damien Hirst, Tom Sachs and many more, this will surely be an auction to watch. The whole collection will be on view from September 17th - 22nd.

Some of the works that have been released show some of the highlights that will come. Kehinde Wiley's 'St. Sebastian II' is estimated to achieve $80,000-120,000. WHile Vik Muniz's diamond studded portrait 'Jackie', made with over 3,000 loose diamonds, has an estimate of $100,000-150,000. A third highlight, estimated at $70,000-90,000 is Subodh Gupta's 'Sans Titre #2, Ballot rond (gros)'. With only three glances at the sale, this auction has great potential to be worth millions.
