The amount paid for a host of Lost memorabilia may interest antique valuation seekers.
Antique valuation seekers may be surprised to see that fans of Lost have stumped up $47,500 (£30,847) for a blue Volkswagen Dharma van at a recent auction.
But the memorabilia bidding did not stop there as total sales from the TV show - which ended earlier this year - raked in $1.8 million at the Barker Hanger at the Santa Monica Airport.
Other notable acquisitions were Daniel Faraday's journal, which went under the hammer for $27,500 and a copy of the pilot script, signed by JJ Abrams and Damon Lindelo, which was sold for $15,000.
Moreover, antique valuation hunters may like to note that the fail-safe key turned by Desmond Hume fetched $11,000.
Celebrity gossip writer Perez Hilton called the amount paid for the items "insanity" on his website, while auction spokesperson Marc Kruskol said: "Sales far exceeded our expectations by a huge amount," the Wall Street Journal reported.
