Latin American Sale Generates High Values

Christie's will hold their sale of Latin American Art on May 26-27th in New York.

On May 26-27th, Christie’s will hold their Latin American Sale in New York. The sale will comprise of works from almost 350 artists from as many as 16 countries. Some of the big names are expected to fetch millions of dollars.

Some highlights include, Fernando Botero’s “Colombian Landscape” from 1986. The piece is expected to see prices of $1.2 million but there is a hope that this lot could fetch up to $20 million. “Formas trabajadas animicas” by Joaquin Torres-Garcia from 1933 has been estimated at $800,000. Another highly important Mexican Artist, Miguel Covarrubias’ piece, “Offering of Fruits for the Temple” will be estimated at around £300,000.
