Frida Kahlo Valued at $1.2 Million

On May 25th Sotheby's will be holding their auction including Latin American Art where a miniature self-portrait of the artist will be auctioned off.

In May, Sotheby’s will hold their sale of 20th Century Latin American Art in New York. Highlighted in the sale will be a self-portrait miniature of Mexican Artist Frida Kahlo. The piece will hopefully fetch above $1.2 million. It is the artist’s smallest work measuring 2 inches by 1-5/8 inches.

The auction will take place on May 25th and will also include other works by Colombian artist Botero. Just as the Kahlo portrait, these works are to fetch record prices as well. The sale will hopefully bring in an international flair to Latin American Art and bring this style into the international community.
