Carl Fogarty-ridden Ducati has antiques valuation of up to £30k

An antiques valuation of between £24,000 and £30,000 has been placed on the motor.

A motorbike ridden by legendary racer Carl Fogarty has been given an antiques valuation of between £24,000 and £30,000 before going under the hammer.

The Ducati 888 Corsa - which was purchased by its current owner in 2005 - will be sold at the International Motorcycle Show in Staffordshire on April 24th, the Lancashire Telegraph reports.

The 46-year-old, who is now retired after managing to win four world championships in the 1990s, rode the machine to glory as he won both the Superbike race and the headline event at the North West 200 on it in 1993.

In addition to this, the same collector is auctioning off the 916SPS Fogarty Replica bike, which was given to the rider following his 1998 Superbike Championship win.

Fogarty was forced into retirement in 2000 shortly after he suffered a freak crash at Phillip Island, which shattered his shoulder, while he did manage a short spell as a team owner.
