On May 4th, Christie's will auction off an impressive Pierre Bonnard painting from 1936 with an estimate of US$ 6-9 million.

Christie’s has announced their Impressionist and Modern Sale will be held on May 4th in New York. The highlight of the sale is to be Pierre Bonnard’s ‘Le petit dejeuner’ (1936). This picture has been in the private collection of Evelyn Annenberg Jaffe Hall since it was acquired and has been seen in shows at both the Museum of Modern Art as well as the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

The piece is estimated at US$ 6-9 million with hopes of being the showstopper of the evening sale. This piece could fetch a top-selling price for any work by Boneyard. The piece has never been to auction before and this will hopefully help the increase of the price.

The painting will be on exhibition at Christie’s London from April 16-19 and at Christie’s New York from April 29-May 4.
