Antiques valuation news: Evil Knievel truck sells for $100k

The last truck owned by daredevil Evil Knievel has been purchased for $100,000.

Sports Memorabilia

Sports memorabilia collectors in Scottsdale, Arizona bid for a 2002 Ford F-150 crew cab truck owned by daredevil Evil Knievel.

The vehicle is white with blue and red stripes and has only 18,000 miles on the clock.

Those interested in antiques valuations will be impressed to learn that the item was sold for $100,000 (£62,820).

Former manager of the star Bill Rundle told the Montana Standard that the winner was Butte GM Auto Center owner Wayne Stearns, who stated that he did not want to see the truck leave Knievel's hometown.

Mr Rundle described the truck as the "pride and joy" of the stuntman, who died in 2007 at the age of 69.

Another historic automobile purchased at auction recently was the ambulance that carried the body of former US president John F Kennedy.

It was bought for $120,000 last week by car collector Addison Brown, who acquired the item despite rumours that it might be a fake, reports Reuters.
