Antique appraisals seekers may be keen to see 'JFK ambulance' go for $120k

There have been rumours the vehicle might not be the real deal.

Those looking for accurate antique appraisals might be interested to note that an ambulance said to have carried the body of former US president John F Kennedy has sold for $120,000 (£75,343) at auction.

Car collector Addison Brown was the successful bidder for the grey 1963 Pontiac Bonneville vehicle, despite musings that it may be a fake.

But Ms Brown stated she is pleased to be able to own "a piece of history", adding: "[There is] absolutely no doubt in my mind," Reuters reports.

And when discussing what she is likely to do with it now, Ms Brown pointed out: "It belongs somewhere people can see it and experience it."

This comes after dentures worn by former British prime minister Winston Churchill have been given a pre-sale estimate of £16,000, Agence France-Presse reported.

The gold teeth were made to deal with his lisp, according to auctioneers Bonham's.
