Antique appraisal seekers may be keen to see medieval coins fetch £10k

Those searching for accurate antique appraisals might like to note a hoard of medieval coins have gone under the hammer for more than £10,000.

The collection - which consisted of over 40 of the items - was sold at Lichfield Auction Centre, the Lichfield Mercury reports.

Coin expert Stephen Wrenn took the products - which were about during the reigns of Aethelred I, Edward the Confessor and William I to name but a few - to Richard Winter ton Auctioneers' before Christmas.

Mr Wrenn said the collection was one of the finest of its type he had ever seen, adding: "Notable for the fine quality and condition of the coins, the vendor was a discerning collector who only collected the best, each of which was carefully researched."

This comes after a 14th century King Arthur manuscript was given a pre-sale estimate of between £1.5 million and £2 million, people looking for accurate antique appraisals might be keen to hear.
