£478k bid tabled for Warren Buffett auction

One auction appears to have generated a high bidding price.

Those on the lookout for an online valuation service might have noted that an individual has bid $700,100 (£478,000) to dine with American billionaire Warren Buffet. The annual auction is part of an attempt to generate funds for aSan Francisco charity called the Glide Foundation - and 40 bids had been lodged by last night (June 9th), according to Reuters.

So far, the highest bid is well beyond the $456,789 achieved forlast year's fundraiser. Mr Buffett previously pledged to give a large proportion of hiswealth to the Bill & Melina Gates Foundation.
