Individuals seeking antique appraisals may be interested to see that Lord Nelson's first ever medal is going up for auction.

Medals

Those looking for accurate antique appraisals might be interested to note that first ever medal won by Lord Nelson is set to go under the hammer.

The Breast Star of the Order of the Bath item - which was awarded to the admiral in 1797 after victory at the Battle of Cape St Vincent in the Caribbean - is expected to fetch £500,000.

Fittingly, the piece will be auctioned one day after Trafalgar Day at Sotheby's in London on October 22nd.

James Morton, auctioneer and medals specialist, said the auctioneers is privileged to have been asked to sell it.

He added: "This is an exceptionally important piece of Nelson memorabilia which is even more remarkable having been rediscovered more than 200 years after the admiral's death at the Battle of Trafalgar."

Antique appraisals may have also been given for a set of dentures once owned by Sir Winston Churchill, which were sold for £15,200 last month.
