Ford Bubbletop car given an antiques valuation of $300k

The motor is set to be sold in March.

A 1955 Ford Beatnik Bubbletop Custom concept has been given an antiques valuation of between $200,000 (£126,266) and $300,000, it has been reported.

According to USA Today, the motor is set to go under the hammer at RM Auction's Amelia Island event on March 12th.

The award-winning vehicle started off life as a 1955 Ford-based custom and has previously picked up a $20,000 prize at Darryl Starbird's National Rod and Custom Car Show, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

It was created by Gary Fioto, who took apart a 1950 Mercury to construct it.

This comes after it was revealed earlier this month that a host of motors from the Captain America film set are set to go up for auction.

The motors from the Marvel Studios motion picture will be sold at a Historics at Brooklands sale on March 3rd with more than 50 automobiles set to be available to bid for.
