hose seeking accurate antique appraisals for football memorabilia may be inspired to get their products valued after seeing a Cardiff City FC piece fetch £1,350 at auction.

The item - an official programme from the club's 1927 FA Cup final win over Arsenal at Wembley - went under the hammer to an anonymous phone bidder at Lockdales Auction House in Ipswich, Wales Online reports.

Chris Elmy, from Lockdales, said it was expected to reach around £1,100.

He added: "It started off at £1,000 and there was a competition for it. It was a bit tit-for-tat, it started out as we expected but it went for a good price."

And the programme also came with a vinyl recording of Abide With Me, sung for the first time at an FA Cup final, which continues to be performed at the tournament's concluding stage.

This news comes after former England defender Nobby Stiles announced he was putting his 1966 World Cup winner's medal up for auction.
