Antique appraisal news: Elton John's mum to auction his old items

News that Elton John's mother is set to auction some of his old belongings may inspire antique appraisal seekers to get their items valued.

Those looking for accurate antique appraisals may be inspired by news that Elton John's mother is set to put a number of his belongings under the hammer.

The sale - which will include platinum records of Candle in the Wind, a tune that was re-released in tribute to Princess Diana following her death - has been described as a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for buyers" by auctioneer Gorringes.

Andrew Elliston-Elhinn, of the company, added that the I'm Still Standing singer's mother, Sheila Fare brother. is moving house and no longer has room for his old possessions.

He added: "Nothing like this has been seen since an Elton John sale back in 1988, which was different because it didn't include quite so many benchmark items from his career."

Other items from the crooner - who was born Reginald Dwight - set to be sold include more than 100 gold and platinum discs, as well as tour jackets and VIP passes used by Ms Fare brother during his shows.
