An antiques valuation of £1,000 is placed on notes written by Alex Higgins.
Notes written on betting slips by snooker legend Alex Higgins have been given an antiques valuation of £1,000.
The former world champion, who died in July at the age of 61, penned the pieces a year before his death, a Hanson Auctioneers spokesman said, before they were eventually given to journalist David O'Dornan, the BBC reports.
He stated the writings give a fascinating insight into what Higgins - known as the Hurricane - was like, adding the majority were on betting dockets, but one was on a bar receipt.
One of the notes stated: "[I was] technically the very best, better than any chess grand master and when I decided to attack I was also lethal."
And another reads: "Was always honest and tried my best".
This comes after an apology letter written by Higgins, following an altercation with a press officer, was given an antiques valuation of up to £2,000 in November.
