War Book Gets High Value at Bonhams

Yesterday, August 2nd, Bonhams held their sale of Militaria objects in Oxford. One of the key pieces to be sold was an impressive copy of a small leather bound book from WWII showing 107 signatures from heros of the Battles that took place throughout Britan. The presale estimate was only £6,000-8,000. The book ended up making £33,600 going to a private British buyer.
The cover of the book was engraved with the following statement: "The Battle of Britan, 1940, The Book of Heros. 'Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many, to so few' Winston Churchill".
The total for the whole sale reached an impressive total of £230,712. with 93% of the lots selling, this was truly a success.
