Want antique valuations? Royal jewellery 'could bag £90k'
July 23, 2010
This November, those on the lookout for antique valuations could attend a Sotheby's auction where 20 pieces of jewellery commissioned by King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson are due to go under the hammer.
Among the items up for grabs, a set of 1935 Cartier diamond cufflinks and button hole decorations is expected to sell between £70,000 and £90,000.
The jewellery is engraved with an inscription and could catch the attention of those keen on glamorous historical relics.
Furthermore, the sale will also see a diamond charm bracelet with a gem-set cross find a new owner.
Sotheby's anticipates that the event could raise more than £3 million in total.
Meanwhile, anyone seeking antique valuations may already be aware that a piano used by The Beatles may generate £150,000 at auction.
The instrument - which is covered in coffee stains and cigarette burns - is being sold by Bonhams auction house in London.
