Toys and dolls antiques: Old pinball machines 'may have value'
May 28, 2010
Anyone looking for the most accurate online toys and dolls valuation could be intrigued by news that vintage pinball tables may be worth a bob or two.
A piece in the Tennessean featured an enquiry about the value of a pinball game which had been in the family for a number of generations.
The glass-covered item contains ten ball bearings and measures 11 by 17 inches, according to the owner, Isabel.
In response, Connie Sue Davenport revealed that the game in question is an early model produced by Northwestern Products as far back as the 1920s.
Regarding such items, she stated: "In a higher-market toy auction, with buyer and seller fees, they sell for more than $100 (£69)."
The correspondent also answered a query about a Gone with the Wind lamp, which she said is not currently in style, although a similar version with elaborate metal, glass or painted parts could fetch more than $1,000.
Elsewhere in the United States, a dress belonging to Marilyn Monroe is set to go on sale in Hollywood.
