Sotheby's Appraises Wine
August 31, 2011
In Hong Kong in October, Sotheby's will be holding their sale of fine and rare wines. The sale will include wines from the Ultimate Nine of the Bordeaux Winebank Collection as well as over 800 other lots of the Finest and rarest wines and champaignes. The sale will be held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. There is also a huge price tag of HK$62.5-88 million (US$8-11 million) for the whole sale.
Robert Sleigh, Head of Sotheby’s Asia Wine Department said: “We are delighted to have teamed up with Bordeaux Winebank to once again offer the Ultimate Nine with the Five Star Provenance assurance. Our previous sales from this collection were exceptionally well received and I have every confidence that we will once again see strong demand. There is also plenty in the sale to delight Burgundy lovers with an extraordinary four full cases of Romanée Conti 1988 on offer.”
With cases of wine estimated at HK$240,000-400,000 (US$30,000-50,000), this sale has the potential to be very impressive.
