Rare Bugatti motor could inspire antique valuations for automotives
August 9, 2010
Anyone with their eye on antique valuations for Bugatti automotives might be interested to learn that a 79-year-old Type 51 model is set to go under the hammer.
It could fetch approximately £2.9 million, according to a piece in the Telegraph.
RM Auctions is holding the sale and Dan Warrener, a car specialist at the organisation, stated: "Rare collector cars, like fine art, have increased in value dramatically in the past decade. Many price records have been broken in the past two years, while more traditional investments have gone down."
The model in question contested 17 European Grand Prix races and arguably has the kind of class that will capture the imagination of driving enthusiasts far and wide.
Furthermore, there is apparently no doubt about the vehicle's authenticity.
Collectors might have noted recent news - reported by the Swindon Advertiser - that Intel helped raise £6,200 for the NSPCC as part of a sports memorabilia fundraiser.
