Horses sell for antique valuation of $45k to raise money for charity
August 31, 2010
A pair of horses has sold for $45,000 (£29,000) at an auction to raise money for the American Cancer Society, which could amaze antique valuation seekers.
The event amassed a total of $670,000 - 34 per cent more than it made in its inaugural year - for the aid organisation overall with other animals sold including seven bulls and heifers, Springfield Business Journal reports.
Editor of the publication Eric Olson, writing the piece, noted that the $45,000 Clydesdale horses were "authentically Scottish in colour".
Antique valuation seekers may also like to note other items to raise big bucks at the event - which took place at the William H Darr Agricultural Centre - were six sets of the hand-painted ceramic plates that went under the hammer for $43,500.
This news comes after a red 1952 IH O4 Orchard tractor was sold for $16,250 at an auction in the US earlier this month.
