Hemingway autograph set for auction sale
May 27, 2010
A rare autograph by the 20th century American author Ernest Hemingway will be sold at the sixth annual Fort Worth Postcard & Paper Show in the United States.
The item features on a menu of the El Dragon Bar and Restaurant from the Cuban waterfront.
It has the words "a delightful place" written above his signature in blue ink.
The organisers expect the autograph to sell for between $3,000 and $5,000 (£2,060 and £3,430).
The chance to obtain the item might appeal to fans of the literary giant, whose most highly regarded works include the novels A Farewell to Arms and For Whom the Bell Tolls.
Meanwhile, the event will feature antique photographs, sheet music and more than 1,000 postcards.
As such, it could offer a fantastic opportunity for buyers to secure a great value-for-money deal.
The showpiece will also see the sale of vintage advertising related to brands such as Coca-Cola.
