Frida Kahlo Valued for $20,000
July 26, 2011
Leslie Hindman Auctioneers in Chicago, Illinois will be selling a great unique work by Frida Kahlo on August 9th. The lot is a battered copy of a book containing Edgar Allan Poe works. Kahlo owned the book and has added many inscriptions, collages, and was an outlet for Kahlo to create a unique artist's book.
Director of Books and Manuscripts, Mary Williams says, " Kahlo's works are exceptionally rare. On the occasion one does appear at auction, prices quickly exceed $200,000. The present collaged work is without precedent at auction." Hopefully the book will exceed all expectations at auction.
