Christie's Appraises Freud at 4.5 million Pounds

At the sale of the collection of Kay Saatchi at the Post-War and Contemporary Art auctions this June, Christie's is featuring an impressive collection of Lucian Freud's paintings and drawings. The sale takes place earlier tonight in London at Christie's sale rooms. Along with a wonderful painting titled 'Smiling Woman', Christie's is offering a great selection of Freud's drawings.
The following drawings all are dated to the 1940's and show a great arrange of the best drawings to come to auction. 1944, 'Rabbit on a Chair' is estimated at 300,000-400,000 pounds. 1943 'Dead Bird' has an estimate of 220,000-280,000 pounds. 'Dead Monkey' c. 1944 is estimated at 150,000-200,000. 'The Sleeping Cat', c. 1943-4, is estimated at 100,000-150,000 and finally 'Boy with a Pipe' from 1943 has an estimate of 80,000-120,000 pounds.
