April 25, 2011
In Paris on June 14th, Christie’s will be holding a Contemporary and Modern Art Sale with 25 major works from the Dennis Hotz Collection. The Hotz pieces are expected to achieve around €1.5 and 2.2 million together. The exhibition will be on view to the general public June 10th, 11th, and 13th.
The collection comprises works such a Kota reliquary guardian figure that will be estimated at €600.000-1.000.000. Other highlights include a figure of a Dogon female after the Tomo-ka style, which has an impressive catalog of exhibitions as well as being of the former Solvit Collection.
“Over the past 30 years, Dennis Hotz has formed an outstanding collection of Tribal art, distinguished by a sophisticated sensibility and built with a passion for the vitality of great sculpture.” Excerpt taken from artdaily.com.
