Selling at auction needn’t be difficult. We use our expertise to help you sell at auction

Since launching our website in September 2009, many of our clients have asked our assistance to help sell their items on their behalf. Whilst we ourselves don't buy any of the items, in order to guarantee our independent and unbiased approach, we do assist by advising where the best place is to sell, what auction, what date, what potential buyers to target, what selling strategy to build, etc...

How does it work?

• We further research the item
• We discuss internally with our experts what the best suitable auction would be to maximise your return
• We call you to discuss the selling strategy and agree on the best way forward

Why consign through us, rather than go straight at auction yourself?

• We will firstly do some further research on your item before going to auction, so your item enters the market fully explored
• We will negotiate the selling strategy with the auction house
• We will ensure on your behalf that the auction house illustrates your item well in the catalogue
• We will ensure the auction house gives your item the write-up it deserves
• We will ensure the auction house works its hardest to get their potential buyers interested in your item
• We will aim that the auction house displays your item in the best possible way during the exhibition days
• Any other aspects will be covered with the auction house in order to maximise your return
• In some cases we would put out our own press releases in order to capture an even wider audience
• Tap into our own knowledge of which buyers are out there and broaden your potential buyers base through us

What does it cost?

You just pay us a flat fee inclusive of our administration charges, auction house commission, illustration charges and insurance costs.

The commission is calculated as follows (based on the hammer price):

• 15% on the sales amount below £10,000;
• 10% on the sales amount over £10,001

Remember, there will be VAT payable on the commission only (not on the total hammer price)

Also remember, if your item doesn't sell, you don't pay anything!
